Ginger-Kathleen & Jonathan are a husband and wife team, with the indubitable advantage of two photographers for your wedding. (Why? Two artistic perspectives, two sets of eyes to catch every precious moment, and last but not least: Technical malfunctions happen, and all the insurance in the world can’t bring your wedding pictures back. Two photographers mean that you have your eggs in, well, two baskets! )
We blend photo-journalism with traditional portraiture, but we do prefer a unstructured, ‘real’ look unless requested otherwise. Those small details, planned and unplanned, capturing the moments as they happen, and the richness of the event are all very important to us.Ginger-Kathleen does the formal portraiture, and prefers warm, color saturated looks with dramatic or diffused light when possible for a romantic statement. She also finds getting the right angle makes a world of difference in the appearance of the subject, and understands those who hate being in front of a camera. Shots of the bride that show her true beauty are very important.
Ginger-Kathleen grew up around the wedding process, since her mother provided catering and wedding flowers, and shot her first wedding at 18. This long history of wedding experience gives her the ability to relax and let the wedding happen with minimal interference. Anything involving beauty, whether it’s gardens, music, photography, or animals, is a passion.
Jonathan, also a software engineer, enjoys photography as an art form, especially black & white. He also enjoys the interaction with people that takes place during a wedding, as well as the artistic and technical challenge.
